"Spring Thunder"

Listen, The wind is still,
And far away in the night --
See! The uplands fill
With a running light.

Open the doors. It is warm;
And where the sky was clear--
Look! The head of a storm
That marches here!

Come under the trembling hedge--
Fast, although you fumble...
There! Did you hear the edge
of winter crumble

  1. A wonderful poem! I like that it flows so smoothly whit rhyme, not an easy task.

  2. Simply beautiful. Wild_Bill pointed me to your blog Emily - and he was right - you are a fabulous writer... can't wait to keep up with your essays.

    The poem is a keeper... so nice to find another kindred spirit.

  3. Bill--I love the rhyme, too, but that last line is my favorite.

    And Barbara, so glad you popped on over. I appreciate your sweet comments, and look forward to future dialogues!
